03 September 2004There are many approaches to training based on the Systematic Approach that evolved with the Armed Forces training processes over the last 50 years or so. These have served us well to ensure training is planned, focused on meeting identified needs & evaluated effectively.
However, they tend to emphasise the professionalism of training & pay little attention to the organisation, the context it provides for training & the nature of the interaction between the two.
In recent months, through our work in the UK & Japan, we have created & refined the Best Practice Approach to Development (BPAD), a model which: -An outline of the model & some descriptive information follows, however, if you would like more information then please contact us.
- Places an emphasis on the need for a partnership between development professionals, individuals & their managers
- Provides a series of topics as a basis of communication between development & other managers in the organisation
- Requires development professionals to become better educated about their organisation, its strategies, issues & priorities
- Enables development to be focused so as to deliver the required added value to an organisation & its people
